STADT STASCHO er nominert som en av fire til OSJ sin MILJØPRIS 2014.
De nominerte er:
• Seawater-driven pile driving machine IHC Hydrohammer, part of IHC Merwede, which uses seawater – instead of oil – as a drive mechanism, thus reducing potential for oil spill hazards in the marine environment. The S-90W IHC Waterhammer was utilised by Swiber Offshore Construction to install four foundation piles on a PLEM offshore India
• Siemens Blue Drive Plus C propulsion concept, a new type of diesel-electric propulsion concept claimed to have reduced fuel consumption, reduced emissions, lower investment costs that LNG or dial fuel engines, reduced maintenance costs and reduced space/weight compared to the alternatives
• STADT’s ‘Stascho’propulsion concept with its ‘Sinus’ technology, which helps reduce fuel consumption and emissions to a minimum. This was first delivered to the seismic research vessel Sanco Star but has been ordered for a number of differentvessels in the last 12-18 months. Fuel savings up to 45 per cent are said to achievable.
• Oil Spill Response Ltd (OSRL) for its capping stack, which is designed to ‘shut-in’ and uncontrolled subsea well. Examples of the capping stack are now available in northwest Europe, Singapore, offshore Africa and elsewhere. The system includes four capping stacksand two hardware kits for debris clearance, a BOP and the ability to apply dispersant at a wellhead. The equipment can be used for the majority of subsea wells in water depths up to 3,000m
